As Fire Prevention Week comes to an end, we ask if your house is as safe as it should be? The NFPA has minimum recommendations for placement of smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors and fire extinguishers. If you are unsure when your detectors were last replaced, let us come out and evaluate your current fire detection equipment. Newer model smoke detectors can last up to ten years. In the case that your current detectors are defective or outdated, we can replace them! It is recommended that you have one smoke detector in every bedroom and a minimum of one per floor. The NFPA also recommends a carbon monoxide detector on each floor. Fortunately, newer models come in combination detectors. Fire extinguishers should be easily accessible and there should be at least one in the kitchen and one in the garage. In addition to these items, your family should have an escape plan in the event that a fire does occur.

Call us today to perform a walkthrough evaluation of your current fire detection equipment and fire extinguishers. If you don't have the necessary items, we can equip your home with them. Not only could it bring your attention to a fire so it can be extinguished, it could save your life!
